You are at the home page of the District of Columbia Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (DCACDL).  We invite you to come in, look around, and hopefully find some information that will help you in your law practice.

Who Are We?

As more fully explained in our Mission, which can be read by clicking the button to the left, DCACDL is an organization formed by criminal defense lawyers in the District of Columbia that, among other things, promotes constant improvement in all aspects of the administration of criminal justice and the protection of the rights of individuals.   

In addition, we work on behalf of our membership in all relevant realms, and assist them in the practice of criminal defense law here in D.C.  We receive no outside funding, and we depend on dues and contributions to exist and prosper and provide member services.  Won't you join or renew your membership today?

Superior Court Judge(s) Discussing:  How to Convince a Judge to Accept and Pay for An Expert and How to Voir Dire Experts Expert Speakers: --William Tobin on Forensic evidence --Dr. Harvey Shulman on Eyewitness Identification --William Bruchey a Firearms Expert --TASA Group, organization that provides multiple CJA experts Luncheon Speaker, Carmen Hernandez Exhibitors invited from Lexis and Westlaw and DNA Diagnostics.
MATERIALS	A CD of all presentation slides will be provided to all attendees             after the conference.
CLE CREDIT	CLE credit will be available for all CJA Panel Members,             and for Members of the Virginia and Maryland Bar.  CJA credit will             apply for 2008 (not retroactive for 2007) per a Superior Court ruling.
AFTER PARTY	An after party will be held nearby, sponsored by Mr. Paul Riley,             CJA Attorney and DCACDL Board Member.
